Pruneshine....

We decided to take our guests to the local village restaurant, Commanderie, for dinner. This place is really an amazing gem to have so close to our chateau.

After our lunch there the other day we decided to make reservations. When we arrived the owner Stephen had a lovely table with our favorite wine waiting for us. We had an amazing dinner of amuse bouche, fish, duck and lamb. It was an delicious food and a wonderful experience.

After dinner they brought the dessert menus....are you kidding me, we are SO full!!!?!?! Anyway, we all ordered dessert and in lieu of dessert I decided to go with the Vielle Prune d'Ente, an after dinner drink. We are staying in the prune capital of France, so....when in Rome, right??? Once this arrived it was immediately nicknamed 'Pruneshine!'

This stuff smelled like gasoline. If I
Managed to hold my breath and drink it it actually tastes pretty good. The owner of the restaurant brought the bottle over so everyone could enjoy 'Pruneshine' with me. It was a mere 45% alcohol. Everyone enjoyed a good laugh but in reality we all ended our meal with Pruneshine.;)

This was a fantastic dinner and I'm sure we will have many evenings at Commanderie. Question is....how many of us will continue to enjoy Pruneshine after dinner?????

On the way back to the car, London swiped Pappys hat.

We are back home & London decided to create some chalkboard art for us to enjoy!

Another wonderful day on France!
