After that we headed to Agen. It's not quite what we had expected. As we drove in we realized that not all centervilles are so nice. Of course we had targeted some shopping areas but were surprised to learn that the higher end stores are mixed in with some questionable places and many kebab stands. Hmmmmm....
After walking a few blocks down the sketchy street, we jumped in the car to find Le Washington, a michelin starred restaurant for lunch. Unfortunately our good luck from yesterday didn't run over and we couldn't get a table, they were completely booked. So off we went to try and find another location for lunch.
We followed some signs and ended up in a very hilly residential area searching for a restaurant called Le Nostradomus. We had no idea what to expect but at least it got is out of centerville!
It was a very charming restaurant with a cute outdoor terrasse and dining room. We opted to eat in ad it was still a little chilly outside.
London started with her sirop...menthe flavor this time. She wanted to share it with her friend Sammie since it was teal and that's her favorite color!
Lunch was amazing. The restaurant is owned by a married couple and they did an amazing job. We started with a Bordeaux, of course, a 2007 Graves which opened up so nicely over the course of our lunch. Our entrees were Chèvre Chaud Sur Artichauts Marinee....ummmm amazing! Steve's main course was 'Joue de boeuf' (beef cheek with black olive crumble) quite good! I had the Gambas Roti avec buerre de Montpellier....Delish, but certainly not low cal with all the 'buerre.'
Of course London finished with 2 boules de glacé, which they decorated with candy.....really???? But she loved it.
They had this fairy figurine in the garden/terrasse and London was fascinated with it. I think we must have taken a dozen pictures with her. |
Funny, short tree in the garden which Steve barely fit under |
More fun photos with the fairy.... |
Please note the sure cute Catimini outfit!!! My little French baby. |
Needless to say, we didn't really need to eat anymore today, so we hit the pool in lieu of dinner.;) Turns out it was 75+ degrees today. I'm glad we enjoyed it because the next few days call for rain!
