While the Boys are Away, The Girls will Play!

While the boys went off for their Italian lunch on the hill, the girls took advantage of the free time and headed to LeClerc, or as I refer to it - 'French Walmart.' The LeClerc in Villeneuve has just about everything one might need from groceries to homegoods to clothing, etc. Our first stop was the wine section for some first growth Bordeaux and Champagne, then we stopped to pick up some rain boots and warmer clothes for London (as the weather is still not really cooperating) and then we were all distracted by the macaron flip-flops and chocolate snacks. ;->

After a fun morning goofing around at Le Clerc/French Walmart, we headed back by the chateau to have lunch at LaTour Marliac. LaTour Marliac is 0.5 miles from our chateau and I have had the pleasure of passing it everyday on my run. It is a botanical garden that has been in this location since 1875. They are known for being the inspiration for Claude Monet and this garden assisted in the construction and provided the water lilies at Giverny. They are also known for the creation of the most unique colors of water lilies and are responsible for shipping the most water lilies all over the world.

We had a wonderful lunch in the restaurant at the garden of salad, quiche, rose wine and dessert. Then we walked around the garden and took lots of amazing photographs. This is definitely a place to return with London.

Grammy opted to walk back to the Chateau,  but it didn't really last too long. We picked her up on the way.
