We all headed out a little later in the morning to meet them in Bordeaux for lunch. GUESS our first stop in Bordeaux.......the carousel, of course! I know, surprise!
This trip to Bordeaux was unique because we had a special guest. Our neighbor Lily sent her Girl Scout doll, Juliette along for the ride. The Girl Scout challenge this summer was to see how far their paper dolls would travel. So, Juliette started her travels in Bordeaux with us. (Lily, we hope we helped you get the badge/award for most travel for Juliette) London was SO excited to take Juliette on the carousel with her. How could a trip to France be complete without a ride on the carousel!?!?!?
Our original plan was to go to La Tupina for lunch but this required moving the cars and with the rain, cold weather and parking dilemmas we quickly readjusted our lunch plans. (We WILL make it to La Tupina, right???) Right across from the carousel was the original L'Entrecote restaurant. Since the original opening there are many locations of L'Entrecote and we have been to the one in Paris, so it was a treat to visit the original.
We were quite ready for some comfort food after our chilly, rainy morning. L'Entrecote is a great restaurant for anyone who has trouble selecting what to eat. Basically just tell the waitress what you want to drink and how you like your steak cooked. Then you start with a wonderful salad with walnuts and walnut vinaigrette, followed by unlimited steak and frites. Yum!
After a yummy meal, we headed for a little shopping at Galleries Lafayette and then we were headed back to our chateau. Have I mentioned how much we all appreciate our driver!!!!!!?!! I'm pretty sure we all fell asleep on the way home.
