A Date Day in St Emilion and Bordeaux

Steve and I decided to head out for a day date. My parents were so wonderful to keep London and we went out to discover St Emilion and Bordeaux. In all honesty, we didn't really know where we were headed but it was such fun to discover many great gems all around.

First we headed to St Emilion and I must say it was such a pleasant surprise. Our drive was wonderful and we discovered so many cute villages along the way. I have no idea where we were on the drive, but I loved this bridge.

Heading into St Emilion

This looks like heaven....vineyards everywhere
We arrive into Saint Emilion and we were so amazed by the greatness of the village. It is perched up on a hill with cobblestone streets going all over the place and the most amazing views. We are so excited to share our new little 'find' with everyone. But first, let's explore some more....

Vineyards.....

Saint Emilion is such a gorgeous village

We had our wine dog last year in Lourmarin,  maybe this little guy could be it this year??? So cute!
There are many wine shops in Saint Emilion (obviously) and after much scrutinization, we decided on this one. The gentleman that owned it was so nice and helpful and offered to show us his personal cellar. Seriously, I am having cellar-envy! When we get back to Dallas we are going to have to discover where to start building our cellar. (We do have a basement, perhaps it need a remodel????)

After purchasing some macarons and great bottles of wine, we headed into Bordeaux for lunch. Finally we are headed to lunch at La Tupina!!! I think we have tried to eat here twice before.

Heading into Bordeaux....I really LOVE this city. Lunch at La Tupina was absolutely amazing and I'm certain we will return here again before we leave.

Ending a wonderful day with one of the most perfect wines of our trip. I will constantly be searching for another bottle of this most amazing wine and you can be certain that I won't be sharing it!
