A Recommended Trip to La Corniche at Pyla....How Have We Never Heard of This Before?

Sometimes there is an experience on a vacation that you know you will never forget. This random road trip based on a recommendation from a waitress was just that - a day we would never forget. (And that we wanted to recreate....often) I don't think that we realized just how close to the beach we were while in Bordeaux. Earlier in our trip a very pleasant waitress at a cafe said that if we had the chance we should visit La Corniche Hotel on Pyla. ( The second largest sand dune) Of course we smiled and considered it briefly, but it wasn't until we were trying to decide on a day trip that we googled La Corniche. Let me just say that the pictures didn't do it justice. So in the car(s) we all jumped and headed to the beach and we are sure glad that we did. This was such an amazing day that we booked rooms at the hotel for a return trip later in the week!
