Mercurey Visit - part deux!!

We have to share this additional information on our day.

These vineyards are absolutely amazing to me. It is a dream and a career that I will never be able to grasp and yet it is engrained in these locals from childhood. We learned on our visit to Francois Raquillet that he is the 11th generation of his family to make wine on his property. He was explaining to us that this year the weather has been exceptionally hot and they will be cutting the grapes early, in August. Perhaps in my next lifetime, I will come back as an expert wine producer....in France, of course.

There is always something for everyone as we were tasting these wonderful wines, London charmed the sweet man for a lollipop!

PS - Please note the 'deuxieme Catimini ensemble,' this French children's boutique is going to break my shopping budget!!! But I'm loving it!

  1. Does your new name mean you've given up on the other two? :) Sounds like lots of fun. How has the language experience so far? It appears to be of little issue.

What a treat to have Sherry's mom joining you. You can share all of your wonderful experiences together and create some truly lasting memories. No language barriers now, right? ;)

  2. There has definitely been a language barrier, but it always seems to work out. I can put together enough french words to make a sentence where they can somewhat understand what we want/need. I definitely need to study more!!! I'm so thankful for the classes we took before we left! Although there is so much more to know!

I will say if you are looking into Provence for next summer, look into a local language teacher/class also. A 100% french class/tutor is a WHOLE new experience from the Alliance Francaise!!!! We were a bit spoiled with Marie Pierre's english!!!

PS - I'm inviting myself to visit you in Provence! ;->
