What an amazing day we had yesterday and now its time to complete our declaration of climbing the dune. Moving a little slow this morning but Kimberly and I leave everyone at breakfast to take on the highest dune in Europe which reaches a height of 107m (approximately 350 feet).

I am certain that we took a few breaks on our climb up the dune but all in all it took about an hour to climb the dune and return back to the bottom. Of course as we finally got to the top we saw a tourist bus that apparently used the stair case on the back side to enjoy the view. Are you kidding me???? Oh well, it was an adventure.

Here we go |
Yikes |
Are we there yet? |
We are halfway there |
The view just got better and better the higher we got up the dune. At least that made it worth the sweat, blood and tears of climbing the dune. |
Even in the morning the sun is crazy intense |
The inlet of the Bay |
Photos during a break from exhaustion. Ha |

She looks so serious |
Horrible selfie, but had to prove that we were getting to the top. |
Spectacular view of the ocean coast, the inlet of the bay and Arcachon |
How did you get that far ahead of me? |
WE MADE IT!!!! |
Happy girls! We made it to the top. Going down has to be easier! |
The large pine forest on the back side of the dune. |
We can see Arcachon from here, maybe that's where we should go explore for lunch! |
After our successful dune climbing, we are on our way down and pass the McCarty boys heading up. We tell them it's not that bad (a lie) and that they are almost to the top (another lie). Who wants to be discouraged. We also discussed our genius plan to head into Arcachon for lunch and exploring.
Au Revoir La Corniche! We certainly enjoyed our stay and hope to come back some day soon. Now off to Arcachon to see what kind of adventures await us.

What a cute beach side town! |

The FAM |

This is our last adventure of this trip with the McCarty's as they are headed off to London after lunch. We are so thankful to have had them as part of our vacation and we enjoyed every minute with them. Can't wait to travel together again soon! |
Pappy, That is a new kind of 'rose.' |
Our lunch in Arcachon |
Moules Frites, of course |
We are hungry girls |
Mom, look what we got with our glace! |
We bid Au Revoir to the McCarty's after lunch ( and of course after devouring all the macarons at the local Bailladron macaron shop in Arcachon with them). Now its time to head home.
Macarons for the car ride home of course. |
Grammy back at the ipad Scrabble again. |
We only had one mishap the entire trip to Pyla when we were on the way home and London started to fall asleep and realized that she didn't have her 'oh-es' with her. An hour into the trip back to the Chateau, we had to do an emergency turn around back to the Corniche Hotel to retrieve the 'oh-es' as London doesn't know a life without those little loveys. All in all it was an amazing 'fancy pants' trip that we will all look back on with the fondest of memories.
