In France you have the D or N and A roads. The A roads are marked with Blue signs and are equivalent to US Interstates, except they are all toll roads and quite expensive. The D or N roads are marked with green signs and are equivalent of highways in the US. Also, the D or N roads take you into the villages and small towns and are much better for exploring. The A roads have few exits and are for traveling longer distances with no stops.
Chinon wine made in the Loire Valley is made from Cabernet Franc grapes and is very dark and dirty like the Bordeaux wines.
Dog Cockles are small shell fish somewhat like mussels that require a small pin like device to eat. You dig them out of the shell with the pin and toss em down. We had some yesterday which was pretty interesting.
June 13 is a holiday in France - Pentecost Day.
