Burgundy Wines vs. Bordeaux and Loire Valley

It is a funny thing in France.  When in Burgundy there was a small selection of Bordeaux and other regional wines.  Same holds for Loire except they have a large Bordeaux selection and a very small Burgundy selection.  It appears that the various winemaking regions are competitive and exclusionary.

Having said that, there are good and great wines from every region so there are no worries.
