May 9

We took a drive to Louhans, a small town in Burgundy. Stumbled on monday market day and had lunch at a small restaurant. I had the veal which apparently is 80% fat that you are supposed to eat...no go for me. Sherry had a Bresse chicken breast with cream sauce. In France they number Bresse chicken breasts. Bresse chickens are treated like fine wine. They have an appellation, a particular place where they come from, and they are a particular breed. Plus, they get to eat real food and walk around the countryside, all regulated by law.

Back home to swim when London wakes up.
