Adventurous Road Trip Leads to Pibarnon

Today we decided to try our adventure back up the MOUNTAIN to Chateau Pibarnon. We attempted this drive our first week here but there was a storm coming in and the narrow, steep gravel roads didn't seem like a wise choice. Today we are trying again. I'm not going to lie, even in the sunshine I was still clutching my seat and reprimanding Steve's driving. ;-> Poor Steve, it can't be fun to have such a paranoid front seat driver!

Once we arrived at the Chateau, it was well worth it. The wines were lovely (what do you mean you offer a red wine???) and the view was unbelievable! Seriously, we are a few weeks into this vacation and I am a true red wine drinker who hasn't had a glass of red wine. I have embraced the Cote d'Azur and all the rose wine they have to offer. This is heavenly. It will be a tough discussion to get me to go anywhere else ever again.....Provencal cuisine plus seafood, Lavendar, Rolling Vineyards, Beaches - is there anything else needed??? I'm officially in love!

Perhaps we could live here???

I think we are FINALLY close!!!!

We made it! My pretty girl on another wine tour.

Bonjour Chateau Pibarnon.....I think we could live here. We might not ever leave for fear of driving back up the mountain, but I could definitely live in this Chateau with these views!

So happy to arrive!

Quarry View From Pibarnon

The 'arena style' growing of the vineyards in Provence is so interesting. Apparently the ground is so dry that if it were to rain too hard they could have a slide and lose their vineyard. Therefore they utilize these 'layers' of growing vineyards. It is  not only genius, it makes for a very organized and beautiful view.

WOW

London is checking out the view

Perhaps a little bored at the vineyard. That face doesn't exude happiness. ;->

FROMAGE!!!

Seriously, I'm still nervous Steve....please don't slip on this gravel and go over the edge!

We think this is a small house for firewood, but London thinks it is a perfect playhouse size. Clearly there wasn't anything in the 'house.'

A tree just her size!

Playing in the courtyard of the Chateau

Chateau Pibarnon - Quite the beautiful estate

I could live here!!! Seriously, are they trying to move in? That's fine with me!

Sonnez la Cloche

Attendez!

Barrels of Happiness

London referred to their garden as the 'maze.' After our tasting it was time to play in the 'maze.' Why not?? I'm dreading the drive down the mountain at this point!!!
Catch me if you can!!!

I think she wants to live here too!

I'm Queen of the Vineyard!!!

OK London, come on down. Seriously, we don't live here!!! (YET!!!)

We found the Koi pond and somehow I just agreed to buy some pet fish when we get back to Dallas.  How did that happen? That was a lighter wine tasting!!?!

Time to go back down the mountain

Au Revoir Chateau Pibarnon

See you next time!
