A Day in Cannes

Today was a great day for a little drive over to Cannes to explore. We missed the film festival but I am certain the entertainment and people watching will still not disappoint.
En route to Cannes. These are they type of highway signs I like to see! I like our options no matter what direction we go!
Once we arrived in Cannes, it was just lunchtime so we found a nice cafe to sit and people watch and relax. The weather was beautiful and we needed to get our bearings before we headed out into the town (to shop!!). ;->

London Photography - Kind of missing part of my head but at least I'm in Cannes!

We were impressed with the yachts in St Tropez but the options in Cannes were just insane. I cannot even compute that amount of money. We enjoyed a leisurely lunch while gawking at the port. My camera doesn't do these photos justice.
Just a few small boats

Look past the sailboats to the treasure in the background
Now that lunch is over it is time to start walking around and discovering this town. I can only imagine the chaos of the Cannes Film Festival. In reality the area that hosts it isn't really that large. It must be pandemonium.
Beautiful
We discover the mecca of shopping in Cannes on Blvd Croisette. You name the designer store and it will be here. Not a one was missed from what I could tell. Mr Giorgio Armani even has a cafe in his store. That certainly is a step up from our Tommy Bahama Cafe! But first and foremost I am drawn to my personal favorite - Chanel.
Shopping Promenade - Boulevard de Croisette

Chanel in Cannes is a huge boutique with almost everything you could ever want. My most favorite part is knowing that this will be the only time in my life that I will be in France at a Chanel store and the window designs are all Texas based! They are beautiful replicas from the Paris-Dallas show in December and I can't get enough of them. There are so many window displays and I am having fun outside re-living the fashion show from December in their windows. I cannot believe that Dallas is being featured in Cannes! Not a detail was overlooked. Completely stunning! Then of course we went into the boutique. Enough said, it was perfection. Except for the fact that the Chanel shoppers and tourists in Cannes have depleted a lot of the inventory. I suppose that made it an easier day for Steve. ;->

Now on to entertainment for the rest of the family. Yachts for Steve and Carousel for London. Anyone shocked? If only we could factor in some ice cream for London it would be the perfect French day.

Only in Cannes - a Ferrari on the Carousel!

Any of those will do just fine

More Carousel fun

I am not sure who I am supposed to be???? Some movie I have yet to see.

Looks like Steve is standing in on Cinderella'a Carriage as one of the horseman.

Little Princess

Wait a minute - Steve just got booted off as the driver/Prince for London by a very handsome little French boy. Too cute.

Acting like Tourists...taking photos at every stop

Anyone interested in a chair and umbrella for 150 euro a day?

Again, these photos aren't doing justice to our view

The boardwalk in Cannes

My little Pirate of the Caribbean

I couldn't help but take this photo as we were driving out of Cannes and back to Bandol. We passed a Hyper Le Clerc, the largest version of our favorite store we refer to as 'French Walmart.' Unfortunately we were in rush hour traffic and not able to stop and explore but I was quite entertained at the apartments built on top of Le Clerc. That is quite a convenient location for shopping. I wonder if they get their own shopping cart or 'faux euro' to release a cart if they live there??? I found this very entertaining.

It was a great day in Cannes and I can see why they hold the Film Festival there as it has anything and everything one could ever want.
