Chateau Tempiers & Cadiere d'Azur

This morning we headed to Chateau Tempiers. This was just written up in the Wall Street Journal as one of the best rose wines from France. Considering it is 10 minutes from the apartment, how could we not visit?
It is a beautiful family-owned estate. After last summer in Bordeaux we find it interesting to visit  Bandol estates because there are no tours involved, just wine tasting. Chateau Tempiers has a lovely rose wine but surprisingly their red wine is amazing also. I was pleased to find out that they export both their red and rose wines to Dallas. London had a great time as there was a playground on the estate so she could swing and play while we were tasting wine.

Another vineyard visit for this well-traveled girl

Future Sommelier Perhaps?

There were a few books I would have loved to purchase but getting them home would have weighed down our luggage.
This is a MUST HAVE book as all the vineyards listed we have visited. I have to find this when we get home.

Once we finished our visit to Chateau Tempiers we headed to Cadiere d'Azur, a medieval village overlooking the Bandol AOC region.
A workout for Steve - uphill stroller pushing

Walking toward the village

I believe Steve asked if this looks like 'France in Epcot.' haha

She was ready to become a geologist with all the rocks around this town. She was collecting and analyzing them the whole visit.

Pretty Eglise

This doorway was truly amazing. The door was massive, the photo doesn't do it justice. I can only imagine how long it has been here and what it's seen over time.

Mayor Steve???
We stopped and had lunch in a cafe in the middle of town. We enjoyed Croque Monsieurs & Frites and of course London found her new favorite ice cream - Magnum Blanc!

We headed back to Bandol and to Renecros Beach of course. There is no better way to end a day than at the beach! The waves are coming due to the wind. We haven't seen whitecaps like this here. The surfing school must be very pleased. Lots of surfing students out today. Seems frightening to me to surf right into the rocky coastline but what do I know about surfing???

Beach Baby - Tired of watching surfing, ready to get to the beach

Let's GO!
