Cassis.....Simply Beautiful

This morning we attempted the drive to Cassis again.....ready to not make a wrong turn. It was definitely well worth it! What a beautiful town that I'm certain we will be visiting again. We have so many amazing pictures that are postcard worthy!

After making it into the town (parking was a bit of a challenge) we were completely in awe and headed to the beach....London fell in love with the boats and the sand and 'seashell/rock' hunting. The week we have spent here has been quite chilly and of course we were ready for it today and it turned out to be 86 degrees! Oh well....next time we will be dressed more appropriately for the beach.

The marina offers boat tours in Cassis that take you through the mountains and we were so excited to go and explore. Unfortunately, the handwritten sign said "Ferme, l'ocean agitee." Who would want to go out on an agitated ocean??? We will try again maybe later this weekend! It looks well worth it.

After walking around the small town and playing on the beach, it was time for lunch...yum! How to decide??? There were a number of amazing restaurants on the beach & marina that offered everything from a cafe with moules frites to restaurants offering white table linens and 3 tier seafood towers, I don't think there could be a bad choice.

London and I found a lady selling the cutest leather bracelets, so of course we had to each get one to match our outfits. The lady that makes the bracelets measured one with dolphins for London, she is so excited I don't think she will ever take it off!

We found a great location and started the lunchtime fun! We were fortunate to sit next to a table with London's first French love affair...with a younger man! This little boy was 2 and they played and flirted the whole time. He tried to give her 'bisous' when he left, but she acted shy.....si mignon!!!!!

Are we surprised...lunch was amazing!!! Steve had this vat of fish soup and then paella and I had a grilled Dorado that came out whole and fileted table side. It was so yummy!

After lunch, we were back to the beach for London to continue her search of 'seashells/rocks.' (For those with princess knowledge, she was adding to her 'collection' like Ariel.)

What a great day it has been.....London sneaks in an ice cream cone on the way back to the car...who can blame her??? Thank you Cassis for some wonderful memories. We can't wait to return!!!
