We had a unbelievable day at the tour end city, Redon. We really didn't know what to expect so we drove towards the final stage city hoping to figure out our plans. As we approached Redon, Maddux was hungry, Sherry needed some caffiene, etc. We stopped at a MacDonalds for both and found we were around the corner from the finish line. We got our entourage satisfied and then headed towards the center of the action. We ended up parking right down the way from the finish approach and headed towards an ideal spot. We ended up on the rail in the shade and hunkered down for the end of a 200+ Kilometer Stage.
I cannot explain the day.....the caravan came by for an hour with all of the sponsors best gimmicks. All day long it was trinkets and sponsors. Finally, after about 4 hours of hanging out with thousands of our best French friends the riders came in. To see is to believe how fast they are moving. An American won the stage on the 4th of July.
Getting out of town was a whole different issue. All of the roads out were blocked so we decided to have dinner in Redon and wait it out. All was good after dinner.
BTW, London endured the heat and crowds and was just wonderful (see final picture - she finally fell out for a bit). She sang songs with Maddux and Jessica all of the way home.
